The Flare Gun is a unique Launcher that was available during the Holiday Update of 2013. When it was first introduced, it could be purchased with $ Dollar1, but was locked at level 7, while this feature was lifted ever since then, it returned in the BlackBird Vs. AtomDrome Update.

Strategy[]

Gaining major acclaim in the golden age, this one of a kind weapon was a hallmark of skill and simple pleasure, as its wielder can pull the trigger and rain down a barrage of flaming red projectiles, that contain great damage, range, and accuracy, and the gun itself is designed with the intensive use of a single round, but fret not as its fast reload and great agility can make it a fighting force, even in the New Meta. That being said, it does meet its match against maxed Anti Equipment.

With all this though, there is one major signal to this flare, and that is its slow moving projectiles, which can be manageable for enemies from a distance, and is surprisingly weaker towards agility builds if this happens, so be sure to get up close, or within mid-range to better tag targets. Under a Run And Gun this small Launcher will easily be able to Circle around well armored opponents and will quickly implode in on them. At a distance this gun can be avoided by Assault Weapons, Bows, and especially Water Weapons.

Trivia[]

Flare Gun

The older model of this gun

  • This weapon is similar to the Noisy Cricket but with one advantage: it doesn't have the knockback, making this even more powerful, as it maintains the exact same stats as its competitor!
  • Although not totally out of fiction, this weapon in reality is used to signal for assistance, backup, or a means of alert.
  • During the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Update and onward, this Launcher was unable to defeat Bots in a single shot, until the Holiday Update of 2014 rolled around.
    • That was 3 months and 18 days of a two-shot kill flare.
  • Very briefly, the user can see the flare while reloading which appears as a green canister.
  • While it is classified as a Launcher this weapon does not deal splash damage, but does generate a small visual explosion impact less than a foot in diameter.
    • Along with that, its projectile, while based in the class is actually much larger, enabling it to tag targets that reveal even the most minor amount of their character.
    • Lastly, its specialty effect, whether by bug or on purpose, there is a chance that if an enemy tanks the initial shot, then a "lodging effect" will be created, dealing the same damage, as if the player had been shot again.
  • The use of this support device as a weapon is evident in TF2, Far Cry, Manhunt, and other game series.
  • Oddly enough, it shows the "Zzap!" splash after shooting, even though it's not an Energy-based Weapon.
  • Some more experienced players who use this weapon will often hold the trigger and fire button at the same time, or immediately press reload as a round is sent off, to create a near perfect loop, where a round can be sent off in less than a second, indirectly creating a higher hit chance on an intended target.
  • Its design would be changed in the Winter Camp 2 Update, better defining its barrel.
  • During the BlackBird Vs. AtomDrome Update this item was given out at just 45 GoldIcon.
